Focus on HIM’s Global Transformation
The American Health Information Management Association better known as AHIMA (a-he-ma), will put on its 84th Annual Convention next week at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago IL. Attendees at the event will be from all areas of health informatics and information management. This year the focus will be on Health Information Management’s global transformation. It will showcase a comprehensive overview of current and emerging health information management issues and challenges.
New this year will be the 1st Health Information Innovation Leadership Conference (HI2) on October 2-3. Join AHIMA and the AHIMA Foundation for the conference which will showcase innovative progress in workforce development and throughout the academic, corporate, and government spheres, transforming the future of health information and healthcare. The conference also brings together leaders and networks of exceptional thinkers, providing new opportunities for collaboration on innovation in healthcare. Selected professionals from the industry will introduce new concepts and innovative technologies, and have an opportunity to receive the first annual Innovator Award.
On Sunday there will be a Student Academy for registered AHIMA student members. This free educational session will be interactive and include speakers on student-focused topics. Hear subjects like starting a career in HIM, getting certified, and making the most of the convention experience. AHIMA mentors will also be available to answer questions and provide advice on networking. The event will include breakfast, lunch, and a raffle.
