Ai4 Conference Getting a Bigger Footprint

Established in 2018, Ai4 is now the epicenter of the global AI ecosystem and the industry’s only must-attend annual event. Showcasing the latest applications, the state of generative AI, and best practices shaping the future of artificial intelligence. This year in Las Vegas at the MGM, attendance was just north of 4500 attendees. Continuing to draw more interest every year. The industries included and highlighted this year were finance, healthcare, retail, education, government, Manufacturing, and CPG.

A full service event with breakfast, lunch, and social hours included. The event app was a great tool to keep you on schedule.

Generative AI For Design

The one non-healthcare track I attended was inspired by meeting Doug, one of the panelists at dinner the night before.

With moderator Dylan Curious, an AI enthusiast, YouTube creator and futurist, the panel took a dive deep into the transformative power of generative AI in the design realm. He and panelist Blima Ehrentreu from The Designers Group, Douglas Wick from Nestlé Purina PetCare Company, and Marcus Metzger from Hayes Innovation Center for Advanced Manufacturing shared work stories, explored tools and techniques that are allowing designers to realize their visions faster than ever. They shared using AI powered art, media, and video generation tools, which are having an outsized impact on the world of design.

Women in AI Reception

Special shout-out and thanks to Perkins Coie LLP, for the terrific “Women in AI Reception” along with the hosts Sumedha Ahuja, Partner and Firmwide Co-Chair, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and Bipasana Joshee, Counsel. A capacity filled room with food and drinks to help the networking along. I had great conversations meeting women from all industries including the Federal Reserve and FEMA.

Shout-out to Tecton.ai

I caught up with Matt Bleifer, Nick Lee, and Joey Arico at the Tecton.ai booth one afternoon. The company was founded in 2019 by 2 ex Uber guys with hands in the Michelangelo ML platform that gave Uber scalability and success. Some serious street cred there.

A story of the little guy can’t get the resources unless you are a big guy. The resources here are the feature stores. A feature store is a data system used for machine learning, serving as a centralized hub for storing, processing, and accessing commonly used features. Having to build and maintain your own is what stops most startups from ever reaching production environments. Enter Tecton.ai to democratize this technology and make feature stores accessible to every organization.
