Published in the Federal Register on July 14, 2016, new CMS proposed rule for Medicare reporting programs includes changes to the EHR Incentive Program. Changes cover eligible hospitals, CAHs, and EPs for reporting periods 2016 and beyond. Comment period ends on September 6, 2016.

By Bob Grant – A former respiratory therapist was convicted of wrongly accessing individually identifiable health information by a federal jury on June 23 of this year. The charges claimed that the therapist was using the information to seek, obtain, or use intravenous drugs.
