The GA chapter of HIMSS is a distinguished community that represents the substantial health IT industry that has flourished in GA especially in the Atlanta area. This year’s annual conference took place in early October at the Cobb Galleria. Noted community personalities were in attendance including Geoff Brown, the current board president, Nancy Stockslager, Mike Mosquito, and Chris Kunney. Speaking of Chris, many followed his lead and wore pink in awareness of October and breast cancer. Chris is currently an American Cancer Society, Real Men Wear Pink Ambassador.
Innovation was the theme and there were 3 educational tracks, Career Innovation, Digital Innovation, and Informatics Innovation. The morning HIT Like a Girl Sponsored career panel spotlighted 3 high profile Atlanta women in the healthcare systems.

When you need someone to keynote on innovation, who are you going to call? Ed Marx of course. Fresh off the presses this summer, Ed’s new book Voices of Innovation was the keynote message.
I have to admit I thought I knew Ed Marx and his story but I had never heard him speak. He has powerful and successful stories to tell. And it was hard to find a dry eye by the end of his very emotional and personal message.
#GAHIMSS23 Defining #innovation says @marxtango is not necessarily something new it can be taking existing and applying new. Only 20% of CIOs are considered innovative. pic.twitter.com/TfXrUsW1jf

What’s health innovation without someone talking about AI? Well nothing frankly. Again GA has leading industry vendors in AI.

Always good to see Maurya in town. We both live in Atlanta and usually only connect in other states. It is great to see Consensus supporting GA HIMSS.
If you are at #GAHIMSS23 today. Stop by and met @MauryaTillman at the @ConsensusCS booth. @GAHIMSS pic.twitter.com/zc5vrQHDlc
