Dr. Blackford Middleton Joins Apervita on a Mission to Unleash the World’s Health Knowledge

HIMSS Announces New Leadership in Executive Management Team
Blain Newton becomes Executive Vice President of HIMSS Analytics, as of March 1, when current EVP John Hoyt retires from the position. R. Norris Orms, HIMSS executive vice president and chief operating officer, also will retire as of July 1. HIMSS (@HIMSS) President and Chief Executive Officer H. Stephen Lieber, CAE, announced the changes, as the Society prepares for the opening of the 2016 HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition from Feb. 29-March 1 in Las Vegas.

Carolinas HealthCare System Appoints Eugene A. Woods President and Chief Executive Officer
The Board of Commissioners of Carolinas HealthCare System (@Carolinas) unanimously approved the appointment of Eugene A. Woods as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective April 28. Mr. Woods, 51, currently is President and Chief Operating Officer of CHRISTUS Health, based in Irving, Texas. He succeeds Michael C. Tarwater, CEO since 2002. Mr. Tarwater announced his retirement in June of 2015 and will remain with Carolinas HealthCare System until June 30, 2016, to ensure a seamless transition.
