iMedicor today announced it has launched its flagship product, iMedicor SocialHIE, one of the first online social/professional networks to be coupled with a Health Information Exchange (HIE), for Physicians’ Alliance of America (PAA), an organization comprising more than 34,000 physician members representing over 7,100 member practices of all sizes and specialties throughout the U.S. According to both parties, the web-based iMedicor SocialHIE will feature tools designed to enhance day-to-day clinical workflow and assist in making the transition from a paper to an electronic health records system relevant at the practice level. The National Health Information Network (NHIN) Direct Solution standards, now offered through iMedicor SocialHIE, allows for all providers and healthcare organizations to become interconnected, both inside and outside of the iMedicor SocialHIE network – a primary requirement of Meaningful Use (MU) Stage 2 certification.
M*Modal, provider of clinical documentation services and speech recognition solutions, today announced signing seven leading hospitals, radiology centers and practices across 10 states as new customers for its M*Modal Fluency for Imaging product, expanding further the adoption of the company’s advanced technology platform. M*Modal’s solution combines Speech Understanding technology, structured multimedia reporting and workflow management for fast and accurate diagnostic interpretations.
EHR vendord drchrono announced today it received an investment from Box, the secure content sharing platform. South Metro Primary Care (SMPC), one of the largest primary care independent practice associations in the Denver metro area, along with their medical management company Physician Health Partners (PHP), have announced plans to connect the electronic health records systems of its 118 primary care providers to the CORHIO health information exchange (HIE). In partnership with PHP, SMPC is one of 32 Pioneer Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) in the U.S., a federal program designed to improve quality and care coordination for more than 24,000 Medicare beneficiaries in the Denver area. Connecting to the HIE will allow the 118 primary care providers in 26 practice locations to quickly and securely access their patients’ information from hospitals, other provider offices and public health departments, helping them to provide more proactive and higher-quality care. Information available to qualified health care providers through the CORHIO HIE includes lab results, X-ray, MRI and other medical imaging reports, physician transcripts, referral information, hospital discharge reports and newborn screening results.
