Comment period for Patient Safety Plan open through February 4th

On December 21, 2012, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) released the Health IT Patient Safety Action and Surveillance Plan. Building on the department’s pledge to patient safety and using health information technology to improve the quality of care and protect patients, the plan addresses recommendations made in the 2011 Institute of Medicine (IOM) Report, Health IT and Patient Safety: Building Safer Systems for Better Care.
