MCHC and Sandlot Solutions to Create One of the Largest Unified Health Information Exchanges in the U.S.
The Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council (MCHC) and Sandlot Solutions announced their exclusive partnership to provide health information exchange (HIE) technology and interoperability solutions to the MetroChicago HIE and support the Chicago area’s 89 hospitals and thousands of physicians in providing more coordinated and cost-effective care to their patients. As of today, a launch group comprised of 34 hospitals, representing more than one third of the Chicago hospital market, is preparing to go live with the HIE platform. Read press release.
Healthix, Inc. and the Brooklyn Health Information Exchange (BHIX) announce their merger, effective December 1
Healthix and BHIX are pleased to announce that their merger became effective December 1. Among the key objectives for the newly merged Healthix will be expanding health information exchange (HIE) among its participants while shaping a robust relationship with the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) for development of the State Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY).
The merged RHIO will retain the Healthix name and will be governed by a new Board of Directors, chaired by Richard J. Donoghue, Senior Vice President for Strategy, Planning and Business Development at NYU Langone Medical Center. Read press release.
iPatientCare EHR Complies with the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR)
iPatientCare, Inc., a pioneer in mHealth and cloud-based ambulatory EHR and integrated Practice Management solutions announced successful compliance of its EHR by the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR) to submit and receive immunization information between the EHR system and MCIR. This would also help iPatientCare users meet Meaningful Use requirements in both Stage 2 and draft proposed recommendations for Stage 3. Read press release.
WEDI Partners with EHNAC and DirectTrust.org to Accelerate the Adoption of Direct Health Information Exchange
The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), a leading authority on the use of Health IT to improve healthcare information exchange, is partnering with the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC), a non-profit, standards development organization and accrediting body, and DirectTrust to promote and accelerate the adoption of a national accreditation program for health information “trusted agent” service providers.
