Early Registration Discounts Now Open for Connecting Michigan for Health 2014
The Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (MiHIN) invites attendees to join thought leaders from across the state and around the nation at Connecting Michigan for Health 2014, a conference dedicated to advancing the exchange of health information in Michigan. Connecting Michigan 2014 will be held June 4-6 at the Radisson Hotel in Lansing. Â Early bird discounts are available until March 31, with additional discounts available through April 30. Attendees will interact and network with influential health information technology professionals, clinicians, health care leaders and decision makers, members of the state government, representatives of commercial health plans, and leading vendors.
The West Health Institute and Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) issue call for action to healthcare stakeholders to drive medical interoperability
The Gary and Mary West Health Institute and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) released a white paper summarizing the HCI-DC 2014: Igniting an Interoperable Healthcare System conference, featuring lessons learned and synthesizing findings into a call for action to achieve an interoperable healthcare system. Arizona Begins Implementation of New Roadmap Focused on Health IT and Health Information Exchange Success
Arizona has begun formal implementation of Arizona’s Health IT Roadmap 2.0, aimed at coordinating and advancing health IT (HIT) and health information exchange (HIE) statewide. Implementation kicks off with a public forum in Phoenix on April 2 at the Arizona Medical Association (810 W. Bethany Home Road). Â Read press release.
HEALTHEC Selected by the Center for Diagnostic Imaging to Develop a Health Information Exchange Infrastructure and Enhance Regional Care Coordination
HEALTHEC (formerly IGI Health) a leader and innovator in health information exchange and accountable care solutions, announced that the Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) in Vineland, New Jersey has chosen to implement HEALTHEC’s comprehensive Health Information Exchange (HIE) platform creating the infrastructure needed to support the various ACO and population management programs emerging around the southern part of the state. The HIE will be the foundation of a “Population Management Ready” infrastructure. HEALTHEC will then on-board physicians looking to meet their ACO and/or population management needs using the company’s Population Health Management (PHM) and 3D Analytics suite. HEALTHEC will work with the region’s leading independent radiology practice to develop a new HIE infrastructure to ultimately service the more than 4,000 physicians in Southern New Jersey. Liaison Healthcare Successfully Completes Testing of Master Person Index and Patient Document Repository Offerings at 2014 IHE North American Connectathon

NSTIC Pilot for Patient-centered Coordination of Care delivers Health Information Exchange and Privacy via the Trust Network Ecosystem
Resilient Network Systems and its Trust Network ecosystem partners are proud to announce successes from their Patient-centered Coordination of Care (PCC) pilot, funded through the U.S. Department of Commerce as part of the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC). As health information exchanges (HIE) have moved online, healthcare organizations require new technologies to exchange patient’s electronic health records while complying with HIPAA. Among the new challenges are requirements to authenticate and confirm authorization for recipients of patients’ information, while keeping costs and technical barriers low, and also preserving the privacy of all parties’ personally identifiable information. Combining requirements from both HIPAA and NSTIC requires new identity ecosystems bringing together existing sources of identity attributes for healthcare providers, their staff, and the patients they are treating.
