DataMotion Selected by Michigan Health Information Network to Provide Direct Secure Messaging Services
Following a rigorous competitive evaluation, Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (MiHIN) has designated DataMotion™ (@DataMotion), an innovative Health Information Service Provider (HISP), as an Approved Direct Vendor (ADV) for MiHIN and the Direct Marketplace for Michigan (DMM). DataMotion’s Direct Secure Messaging service will help qualified data sharing organizations and healthcare providers easily and inexpensively exchange health information securely in Michigan in full compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act.

Cumberland Medical Center Selects DataMotion Direct to Ensure Meaningful Use Stage 2 Attestation Success
DataMotion (@DataMotion), an innovative health information service provider (HISP) with more than 15 years of secure messaging experience, announced Cumberland Medical Center has deployed DataMotion’s Direct Secure Messaging with Cumberland’s MEDITECH electronic health record (EHR) system. As a result, Cumberland successfully gained attestation for Meaningful Use Stage 2 (MU2), and can now communicate health records privately and securely with patients and collaborating medical providers.

Michigan Health Connect(@MIHealthConnect) and Great Lakes Health Information Exchange have merged to form Great Lakes Health Connect (@GreatLakesHC), one of the nation’s largest providers of health information exchange allowing hospitals, physicians and other medical professionals to quickly and securely share the health records of more than 5 million people.
UNC Health Care First in the Triangle to Go Live on NC HIE Direct Secure Messaging
UNC Health Care facilities are the first in the Triangle to go live on the North Carolina Health Information Exchange (@NC_HIE) integrated Direct Secure Messaging (DSM) solution. Using DSM enables UNC Health Care and its facilities to comply with federal standards and communicate with a broader group of healthcare providers statewide in order to improve care for patients. NC HIE Partners with athenahealth to Connect Physician Practices for Improved Care
The North Carolina Health Information Exchange (@NC_HIE) announced that it has partnered with athenahealth, Inc. (@athenahealth) to connect athenahealth’s cloud-based practice management and electronic health records (EHR) services to the NC HIE network. The partnership will allow athenahealth clients who join NC HIE the ability to securely and electronically exchange patient health records with other caregivers—who may use other EHR products—in order to make more informed treatment decisions at the point of care.
HealthShare Exchange: Pushing the Envelope on HIE in Southeastern Pennsylvania
Martin Lupinetti is bringing numerous organizations together in southeastern Pennsylvania around HIE. At HealthShare Exchange of Southeastern Pennsylvania ( @HealthShareExch), executive director Martin Lupinetti has been leading the advance of a health information exchange (HIE) that is bringing numerous parties together to share clinical data in order to improve patient care. HealthShare Exchange (HSX) was incorporated in May 2012, and its board and bylaws were put into place in January 2013. By December 2013, the University of Pennsylvania Health System (Penn Medicine) and Crozer-Keystone Health System had begun to share test data; and by February 2014, HSC announced the beginning of data exchange.
