We are now a month away from the health IT industry’s biggest event. The HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition will be held in New Orleans, March 3 – 7. You can visit the HIMSS conference website or download a brochure. For readers following our updates on this year’s HIMSS conference here’s what is new this week.

HIMSS has released the companies participating in the Angel Venture Fair. The Fair is actually comprised of two separate sessions; a Health IT Angel Venture Fair and a Health IT Venture Fair & Strategic Partner Forum.  HIMSS bills the Fair as a place to meet the “who’s who” of rising health IT startups as well as an opportunity to network with health IT investors.

Sunday, March 3, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Presenting Companies

Attendees will hear from 20 pre-qualified, established health IT companies with the highest growth potential. The day also offers a  networking lounge and networking sessions.

Health IT Angel Venture Fair
Monday, March 4, 9:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Attendees will here from 14 pre-qualified, early start-up health IT companies with great growth potential. Like the Partner Forum above, the day offers an opportunity to identify potential invesments and plenty of networking sessions.

And finally, will this be your first time attending HIMSS? For first-timers, it can be a daunting experience. I know, I’ve been there. HIMSS will be offering a series of online orientation events to prepare both first time  and experienced attendees.

HIMSS13 First-Time Attendee Orientation Thursday, February 7 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00p.m. CT. This session will help first time attendees navigate the HIMSS conference landscape.

HIMSS13 Online Orientation Wednesday, February 13 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. CT. This presentation explores HIMSS13 Online, a virtual conference  that runs simultaneously with the conference and beyond.

HIMSS13 Experienced Attendee Orientation Wednesday, February 13 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00p.m. CT. This session aims to help the seasoned attendee build on their past HIMSS conferene experiences.
