This is me before attending this year’s HIMSS Annual Conference:
“I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now,
From up and down, and still somehow,
It’s cloud illusions I recall,
I really don’t know clouds at all”
But that was then and this, well, this is post-HIMSS and after attending the annual conference in Orlando and talking with some industry experts, I now know more about cloud technology than I did a couple of weeks ago. Before that, I would have thought Kubernetes was a danish pastry.
Of course, all of our HIMSS Highlights are now available on-demand on our SoundCloud channel, s0 check them out. In the meantime, here are three cloud conversations to explore. Joni would be proud.
First up, Josh Siegel, CTO of CareCloud (@CareCloud) talks about the need for healthcare to accelerate its move to the cloud and app technology to fully realize the interconnections of data. He also discusses CareCloud’s participation in the Google Cloud exhibit at HIMSS and how this partnership with Google fits in with the company’s broader technology goals.
Next is Matt Ferrari, CTO of ClearDATA (@cleardatacloud) who discusses two technology game changes: Distributed Tracing and the impact the technology has on tracing data breaches, and Kubernetes and the potential it holds to transform healthcare. Matt also talks about the impact AWS, Google and the like are having on the industry.
Finally John Nebergall, General Manager of J2 Cloud Services (@j2global), discusses where the industry is going in cloud-based services, how digital cloud fax reduces the high cost of paper-based faxing, and how cloud faxing can help achieve organizational interoperability goals.
