The annual HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) Conference & Exhibition will be held in Orlando, FL on February 20-24, 2011. For those of you who have been in the past you don’t need to be told just how grand this conference is. The organization that touts “transforming healthcare through IT” does not let you down. If  a company has anything, and I mean anything, to do with healthcare and IT they will be there. You might never find them, but they will be there!
Registration is now open and the early bird special rates are good through December 6. And if you are not a member of HIMSS, consider joining and saving even more on the conference ticket and attending the New Member Reception. Keep up with conference before and during through all their social media channels. Partake in the HIMSS11 Annual 5K Fun Run/1 Mile Walk for a little fun and exercise while you are there. Thursday’s keynote speaker will be Michael J. Fox, do I really need to tell you who he is?
There will be over 300 educational sessions grouped in 21 categories. Here are some categories of interest relating to HITECH:
- Ambulatory Information Systems
- ARRA/Meaningful Use
- Clinical Decision Support
- Clinical Informatics
- Electronic Health Record
- Interoperability and Standards
- Privacy and Security
- Workforce Development
Don’t miss Cisco’s Annual Community for Connected Health Summit meeting. This forum will connect healthcare innovators and Cisco experts. I wonder if Ellen Page will be there?
We will be attending HIMSS11, hope to see you there.
