Patient Problem Lists for Meeting Meaningful Use
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is an agency operating under Health and Human Services (HHS) with a primary goal of improving access to health care services for the uninsured, isolated, or medically vulnerable. HRSA provides leadership and financial support to providers in every U.S. state and territory. As part of this goal, the agency hosts educationalwebinars for providers on a regular basis, many of which address health IT initiatives and challenges. On Friday, May 17 at 2:00 pm EDT the agency will hold its next event, How to Use EHRs to Create Problem Lists.
Event Description from HRSA:
This webinar will focus on how safety net primary care providers can meaningfully use electronic health records (EHR) to create and maintain patient problem lists. Created by EHRs, patient problem lists are a core requirement of Meaningful Use. This function serves as a powerful tool for maintaining a patient’s medical history while also helping to engage patients to better track and manage their health care. Presenters will demonstrate how patient problem lists are created and maintained by EHRs, and share their strategies on how providers can use them for quality improvement and patient engagement. Lastly, staff from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will discuss the importance of patient problem lists in achieving Stage 1 and 2 of Meaningful Use. Questions for presenters may be emailed prior to the event to healthit@hrsa.gov.
HRSA will host another webinar in June on EHRs, Using an EHR and Quality Data for Smoking Cessation. This event will be held on Friday, Fri, Jun 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm EDT.
