VNA Institute of Technology Hosts Image Interoperability Symposium

MILWAUKEE, WI – The VNA Institute of Technology invites all healthcare IT professionals to Transforming Clinical Image Access and Distribution, an informative IT symposium in New York City on Monday, September 16.   The event brings together notable IT leaders from Duke University Medical Center, Mayo Clinic and the Advisory Board Company to discuss key issues in image sharing.  Radiologists, cardiologists, hospital executives, CIOs, IT managers and more will attend this unique event.  Attendees are not required to belong to VNAIT to attend, but may subscribe to VNAIT.org by Clicking Here to earn free CPHIMS CE hours by attending the event.

The distinguished faculty and topics will include:

  • Duke Medicine’s Enterprise EMR Image Governance, Management and Strategy” – Christopher Roth M.D., Associate Chair of Radiology for Health Information Technology and Clinical Informatics, Duke University Medical Center and Director of Imaging IT Strategy, Duke Medicine
  • “Enabling Image Access for Patient Care and Information Exchange – Any Image, Anywhere, Anytime” – Kenneth Persons, M.S.E.E., I.T. Architect for Enterprise Imaging Systems, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN
  • “Health Care State of the Union and IT’s Top 10” – Ken Kleinburg, Managing Director of Applications and Technologies Collaborative, The Advisory Board Company

“Duke Medicine’s Enterprise EMR Image Governance, Management and Strategy” and “Enabling Image Access for Patient Care and Information Exchange – Any Image, Anywhere, Anytime” are both eligible for up to 0.75 continuing education (CE) hours (each) for use in fulfilling the requirements of the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CPHIMS) and the Certified Associate in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CAHIMS).

The event begins at 5:00 p.m. in The Club Room at The Lambs Club on West 44th Street in New York. Cocktails and a three-course dinner will be served. The Lambs Club offers Chef Geoffrey Zakarian’s casual and modern approach to American cuisine. Zakarian is the winner of Food Network’s The Next Iron Chef, Super Chefs.
