Health Data, ACOs, Informatics, and Transforming Healthcare
So next week starts the second half of 2012. It won’t be long now until we see the final rules for CMS and ONC and the fate of Stage 2 and meaningful use. It seems that end of the summer still looks like the unveiling. But in the meantime there is a lot going on especially in June. Let’s take a look.
June 5-6, head over to Washington DC for Health Data Initiative Forum III also known as Health Datapalooza. This event promises to bring together a diverse group of data experts, technology developers, entrepreneurs, policy makers, health care system leaders, CIOs, CTOs, consumers, and community advocates to support innovative applications of health and health care data. And not to forget you get to hear Todd Park.
June 6-8 you can just stay on in DC to attend the Third National Accountable Care Organization Summit. This Summit will provide an unprecedented opportunity to learn from leaders of ongoing ACO efforts and identify strategies to overcome ACO implementation barriers. The Summit is bringing together executives from leading ACOs and commercial health plans, and senior policymakers, to provide unique and in-depth insights into ACO implementation and related health reform efforts.
Looking for more of a resort venue? June 7-10 the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine 2012 Annual Meeting will be in Orlando FL. Explore new tools and proven solutions you can use to improve quality, efficiency, and workflow in your day-to-day operations. And come a day early for the Imaging Informatics Professional Bootcamp.
If you are on the west coast on June 10-13 consider the California Health Information Association (CHIA) Convention & Exhibit. This event will address today’s most important topics (ICD-10, EHR, CDI, Meaningful Use) and offers networking opportunities to a broad spectrum of health information management professionals.
And finally back in the nation’s capital, on June 11-12 is the Government Health IT Conference & Exhibition, brought to you by HiMSS. This year’s theme is “The Year of Critical IT Decisions to Transform Healthcare”.
