The Medicare Access and CHIPS Reauthorization Act (MACRA) of 2015 was signed into law on April 16, 2015 after being past by the Senate with a vote of 92-8. The law repeals the previous Medicare Sustainable Growth Rate law governing physician’s reimbursement policy. Beginning January 1, 2019 Medicare physician payments will be determined by future adopted rules for MIPS, the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System. Although 2019 may seem too far in the future, following the program from the start and learning how it will affect your practice, can help you plan for your best reimbursement return. Here are three resources we are sharing to get you started.
