The Strategic Health Information Exchange Collaborative is a national collaborative representing health information exchanges (HIEs). The organization already represents 60 HIEs, and these HIEs collectively cover more than 200 million people across the U.S., well over half of the American population. SHIEC enables health information exchange organizations and their strategic business and technology partners to advance effective, efficient healthcare locally, regionally and nationally. They offer 3 types of memberships.
- HIE Membership – community, regional and statewide health information exchange organizations
- Associate Membership – organizations that have ongoing regulatory, coordination or standards development roles with community, regional and state health information exchange organizations.
- Strategic Business & Technology (SB&T) Membership – organizations that sell products or services to health information exchange organizations.
