The National Association of State Technology Directors (NASTD), which represents information technology (IT) professionals from the 50 states, through four regions, and the private sector, will hold its Annual Conference and Technology Showcase at the Hilton Minneapolis in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from Aug. 18-21.
The theme for this year’s event is “Making Waves in IT.” The event will feature presentations and panel discussions on pressing state government technology issues, including cybersecurity, digital accessibility, disaster recovery, emerging technology, legacy modernization, talent acquisition and legacy modernization. The sessions will also feature a panel discussion focusing on state CIO priorities, trends and perspectives.
In conjunction with the event, NASTD has released the findings of its survey on “Artificial Intelligence in State Government IT Operations.” Survey questions were developed by the NASTD Research Committee. Forty-two states responded to the survey.
The conference features three keynote speakers:
- Retired Marine Cpl. Josh Bleill, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran severely injured while serving in Iraq, losing both of his legs. His powerful message of overcoming adversity and taking life one step at a time is inspiring audiences around the country.
- Dr. Jermaine M. Davis honed his expertise in creating culturally inclusive work environments, building high-performance teams, teaching leaders how to communicate courageously and coaching employees on how to increase their levels of happiness and motivation so they can thrive and succeed in life, school and work.
- Lisa Ryan is a certified speaking professional and an award-winning speaker and best-selling author of 11 books. She works with her clients to develop employee and client engagement initiatives and strategies that keep their top talent and best clients from becoming someone else’s.
