COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In this webinar, leaders from Healtheway and DirectTrust will describe their respective legal, policy, and trust frameworks to support HIE. Panelists will discuss their structure, evolution, governance practices, and progress, including how they have addressed challenges along the way. Dr. David Kibbe, President and CEO of DirectTrust, will discuss key issues and barriers related to scalable trust as well as how a national security and trust framework (“DirectTrust Framework”) is maintained. Mariann Yeager, Executive Director of Healtheway, will explain how common standards, specifications and policies are enforced and how Healtheway enables trusted multi-organization health information exchange that enhances quality of care and improves health outcomes. Finally, a representative from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will join the webinar to discuss how they are working with both Exchange and Direct as well as employing Blue Button to improve the healthcare of veterans.
