This session outlined the recommendations from “The Future of Nursing 2020-2030” report, discussed the recommendations from an informatics perspective and highlighted recommendations from the report that are practice changes impacting nursing informatics. American Nurses Foundation Seeks Innovators to Unleash Nurses’ Potential
The American Nurses Foundation has launched a bold, new initiative to improve consumers’ health outcomes by transforming nursing education, regulation and practice.  The Reimagining Nursing (RN) Initiative kicks off with a Request for Proposals (RFP) to award $15 million to support change pilot projects. The RN Initiative will work to equip nurses with the leading-edge knowledge, tools, environments, and systems to deliver exemplary care. Ultimately, the RN Initiative aims to ensure that nurses’ expertise and contributions are optimized so that every consumer has access to the highest quality care. Read the full press release here.

AACN Announces Nurse Faculty Members Selected for the Inaugural Digital Academy
 The American Association of Colleges of Nursing is pleased to announce that 30 nursing faculty from across the nation have been selected to participate in the inaugural 2021 Digital Academy: Building the Essentials Tool Kit with Digital Innovation, which will be held on November 29-December 2 in Dallas, Texas. AACN launched this new initiative to bring together innovative faculty members with Apple Distinguished Educators to develop digital projects around the 10 domains outlined in the new AACN Essentials. Program participants come from 20 states and represent an array of institution types, including small liberal arts programs, public and private schools, and large academic health centers. The American Academy of Nursing will officially designate four extraordinary nurse leaders as Living Legends this fall. Drs. Betty Ferrell, Terry Fulmer, Susan Hassmiller, and Marla Salmon will be honored at the Living Legends Ceremony held during the Academy’s annual Health Policy Conference, taking place on October 7-9, 2021.
