Checking in on our Marketplace Event Calendar for September we find some fall conferences and events you might be interested in. Starting with the ONC’s HIT Policy and Standards Committees. The HIT Policy Committee will meet on September 6th and the Standards Committee on the 19th. Look for locations and agenda to be announced soon. As always you can join the meeting by webcast.

The 7th Annual National Health IT Week is being held September 10-14, 2012. This collaborative forum is where public and private healthcare constituents will work in partnership to educate industry and policy stakeholders on the value of health IT for the US healthcare system. The forum says “there is no better time for the health IT community to come together under one umbrella to raise national awareness!”
Health information technology in Vermont has come a long way in just the last few years. Hundreds of eligible professionals are working with VITL’s regional extension center to implement EHRs and achieve meaningful use. Hospitals and other health care organizations have advanced EHRs. And a growing number of providers are using the Vermont Health Information Exchange to communicate with each other. Join the VITL for this years Summit in Burlington, VT on September 12 and 13.
The American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA) of the American Hospital Association (AHA) is the nation’s only membership organization exclusively dedicated to meeting the professional needs of human resources leaders in health care. Their 48th Annual Conference and Exposition will be in Denver on September 22-25. The theme this year is “Leading People Through Change”.
On the medical front and in Orlando, you can attend the 4th Annual Contemporary Multi-Disciplinary Cardiovascular Medicine Conference from the 28th through the 30th. This unique teaching symposium is for all practicing cardiologist, cardiologist-in-training, physicians and allied health professionals who care for patients with heart disease.
And if you are missing former CMS Administrator Dr. Berwick, you can catch him in Chicago this September. Healthcare innovators from around the world will convene at NRC Picker’s 18th Annual Symposium on the 16th through the 19th to discuss the latest in patient-centered excellence. Look for the Innovative Best Practice (IBP) Awards for best practices that result in significant improvements in patient-centered care and healthcare outcomes to be announced at the symposium.
