State HIE News and Updates 1-5-21

State Health Information Exchanges (HIE) come in all shapes and sizes but have one thing in common: To improve the quality, safety and efficiency of health care delivered in their states. California – Manifest Medex

Manifest MedEx is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health information exchanges (HIEs), combining 11.7 million claims records from Blue Shield of California and Anthem Blue Cross and 5 million clinical patient records from 150 participating partners. Manifest MedEx supports physicians, nurses, hospitals and health plans in sharing critical health information to ensure that patients receive the safest, highest-quality care possible. The California Integrated Data Exchange and Inland Empire Health Information Exchange merged to create Manifest Medex.

MX Newsletter – Manifest Medex’s December Newsletter reports that the new MX EMPI provides better patient matching, MX is preparing to launch an exciting new app, MX is on eHealth Exchange and Carequality and much more.

California – SacValley MedShare

SacValley MedShare (@svmshie) is a member of the California Association of Health Information Exchanges (CAHIE) and serves the 16-county region of California, north of Sacramento, which includes the North Central Valley and the surrounding mountainous terrain. Its region is largely rural and mountainous, with travel limited by climate and season in much of the area. Good communication is critical to coordinate care between primary care, specialists, hospital providers, and skilled nursing care facilities that fulfill a vital role in post-discharge care for many patients.

Hill Country Expands Data Contribution – Hill Country Health and Wellness Centers has expanded their data contribution to SacValley MedShare. They are now contributing ADT (Admit, Discharge, Transfer) messages, Allergies, Immunizations, and Lab Results.

healtheConnect Alaska

healtheConnect Alaska (@akehealth) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, organized and managed by Alaskans and tasked by the State of Alaska’s Department of Health and Social Services, to provide safe, secure transport for health information in order to improve quality and safety of patient care and increase efficiencies for hospitals and medical practices. healtheConnect Alaska provides health information exchange and direct secure messaging services to more than 20 hospitals and 450 healthcare organizations across Alaska.

healtheConnect partners with Collective Medical to improve care coordination and patient care across Alaska – healtheConnect Alaska announced a new partnership with Collective Medical, the largest network platform for real-time cross-continuum care coordination, on Tuesday. This partnership aims to improve care coordination and patient care in Alaska by integrating the HIE’s existing maintained patient information with Collective’s network to create a statewide Electronic Health Record network for Alaska residents and providers.

Connecticut – CTHealthLink

CTHealthLink (@CTHealthLink) is a physician-led health information network delivered in partnership with the Connecticut State Medical Society (CSMS) offering a suite of health information technology tools to help health professionals across the state of Connecticut CONNECT. ANALYZE. ENGAGE. and TRANSFORM. the healthcare industry.

CTHealthLink Expands Health Information Exchange Network – CTHealthLink (CTHL) announced they have added connections to Yale New Haven Health and UConn Health through the eHealth Exchange.

Arizona – Health Current

Health Current (@AZHealthCurrent), is a partner that gives providers the information they need to make better clinical decisions and keep people healthy. The HIE believes more complete information is more meaningful. It makes healthcare transformation possible. And Health Current is central to this progress, integrating information technology and care delivery to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.

2020 IMPACTful Nonprofit Award Presented to Health Current – Health Current is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce 2020 IMPACTful Nonprofit Award.

New York -Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY)

NY-SHINY-200The SHIN-NY is the only HIE that provides universal access regardless of network or EHR system. New York State has made a significant investment in the SHIN-NY and in 2016 they set a goal of connecting 100% of the PPS across the state to the SHIN-NY. The eight RHIOs that make up the SHIN-NY are working directly with the PPS organizations to meet their needs.

Health Share Exchange of Southeastern Pennsylvania (HSX)

PA-HSX-200HealthShare Exchange (@HealthShareExch) is the greater Philadelphia region’s health information exchange for the five-county Southeastern Pennsylvania region. HSX is a unique, membership-dues-supported nonprofit formed by the Delaware Valley’s hospitals/health systems and healthcare insurers that links the electronic medical record systems of different hospital health systems, medical centers, and clinics — and the claims data of healthcare insurers — to make this information accessible at inpatient and outpatient points of care, including medical practice offices.

Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (MiHIN)

The Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (@MiHIN) is Michigan’s initiative to continuously improve health care quality, efficiency, and patient safety by promoting secure, electronic exchange of health information through the MiHIN Health Information Services Cloud (HISC). MiHIN represents a growing network of public and private organizations working to overcome data sharing barriers, reduce costs, and ultimately advance the health of Michigan’s population.

Utah Health Information Network (UHIN)

UHIN (@UHIN_HIE) has been in operation since 1993 beginning as a claims “post office.” Today it also operates the Clinical Health Information Exchange (cHIE), which empowers doctors and patients to work together for safer, better-coordinated care by making crucial information available to doctors at the point of care.

Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (CRISP)

Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (@crisphealth) is a regional health information exchange (HIE) serving Maryland and the District of Columbia. CRISP is a non-profit organization advised by a wide range of stakeholders who are responsible for healthcare throughout the region. CRISP has been formally designated as Maryland’s statewide health information exchange by the Maryland Health Care Commission.

CRISP Image Exchange Quarterly Newsletter – The December Newsletter provides information on current CRISP Image Exchange initiatives, as well as recent project go lives, and tips for how to better utilize the CRISP Image Exchange service.

California Association of Health Information Exchanges (CAHIE)

CAHIE-200The California Association of Health Information Exchanges (@info_cahie) is a collection of individuals and organizations focused on securely sharing health information. CAHIE’s mission is to facilitate and promote the secure exchange of information throughout California to improve the quality, safety and affordability of health services.

CAHIE Onboards to eHealth Exchange – CAHIE has on-boarded to the eHealth Exchange, enabling participants on the California Trusted Exchange Network (CTEN) to connect to its members.
