HealthSYNC of Louisiana
HealthSYNC of Louisiana (@HealthSYNCofLA) is a physician-led health information network delivered in partnership with the Louisiana State Medical Society (LSMS) offering a suite of health information technology tools to help health professionals across the state of Louisiana CONNECT. ANALYZE. ENGAGE. and TRANSFORM. the healthcare industry.
New Statewide Health Information Exchange Connects LA Doctors to Patient Data – Like most states, Louisiana has tried and failed over the past decade to build a government-run statewide health information exchange (HIE) that would enable more seamless sharing of patients’ health data between their doctors and other providers. Among the most significant reasons why HIEs have not worked is the absence of the physician voice in the design and development of exchanges. The Louisiana State Medical Society, which represents physicians, recently launched HealthSYNC of Louisiana (HealthSYNC), the first physician-led HIE to enter this market. HealthSYNC allows doctors, nurses, pharmacists, other health care providers and patients across Louisiana to appropriately access and share a patient’s vital medical data electronically.
healtheConnect Alaska
healtheConnect Alaska is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, organized and managed by Alaskans and tasked by the State of Alaska’s Department of Health and Social Services, to provide safe, secure transport for health information in order to improve quality and safety of patient care and increase efficiencies for hospitals and medical practices. healtheConnect Alaska provides health information exchange and direct secure messaging services to more than 20 hospitals and 450 healthcare organizations across Alaska.
healtheConnect Alaska to Improve Patient Matching and Statewide Data Exchange with NextGate – NextGate, a provider in healthcare enterprise identification, announced that healtheConnect Alaska, (formerly, the Alaska eHealth Network), has selected its Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) as the foundation for enhanced care collaboration and patient identity management. healtheConnect Alaska currently enables electronic medical records exchange and direct secure messaging services for more than 500 participants statewide, including AARP Alaska, Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alaska, Providence Health System, and the State of Alaska’s Department of Health & Social Services.
HealtHIE Nevada
HealtHIE Nevada (@HealtHIENevada) is a private, nonprofit, community-based HIE dedicated to connecting healthcare organizations by managing real time, secure, and accurate exchange of clinical information. HealtHIE Nevada operates throughout the entire state, and is the only HIE open and available to the entire Nevada healthcare community.

Maine – HealthInfoNet
HealthInfoNet (@hinfonet) is a Maine-based, independent nonprofit designated by the State of Maine to operate Maine’s statewide health information exchange. The HIE links medical information from separate health care sites to create a single electronic patient health record. This record is accessible to a patient’s authorized health care providers to support treatment. HealthInfoNet provides a secure, standardized electronic system where health care providers can share important patient information, giving them the tools they need to make more informed treatment decisions, especially in an emergency.

Health Share Exchange of Southeastern Pennsylvania (HSX)
HealthShare Exchange (@HealthShareExch) is the greater Philadelphia region’s health information exchange for the five-county Southeastern Pennsylvania region. HSX is a unique, membership-dues-supported nonprofit formed by the Delaware Valley’s hospitals/health systems and healthcare insurers that links the electronic medical record systems of different hospital health systems, medical centers, and clinics — and the claims data of healthcare insurers — to make this information accessible at inpatient and outpatient points of care, including medical practice offices.
HSX MarketStreet Launches Hackathon Series with Successful, Innovative First Hack – HSX’s MarketStreet team hosted a successful, inaugural Consumer Health-Data-Exchange Hackathon on May, 20-22, 2018, in conjunction with the HealthCare Informatics Philly Health IT Summit. Hackers brought enthusiasm and passion to the event, and inspired colleagues who were cheering them in their efforts to show new ways to bring the value of consumer health data to everyone.
Wisconsin Statewide Health Information Network (WISHIN)
In October 2010 Wisconsin officially announced its intention to designate WISHIN (@WISHIN_Pulse), a not-for-profit organization formed by the Wisconsin Hospital Association, Wisconsin Medical Society, Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality, and Wisconsin Health Information Organization, as the State-designated entity to govern statewide HIE. DE on October 25, 2010. WISHIN is responsible for implementing Wisconsin’s Strategic and Operational Plan. The plan requires multi-stakeholder collaboration and emphasizes ongoing development of government and policy structures.
WISHIN Partners with PatientPing to Advance Care Coordination Throughout Wisconsin – WISHIN, is pleased to announce an innovative partnership with PatientPing, the nation’s leading care-coordination platform, to improve care coordination across hundreds of hospitals, clinics, post-acute care facilities, ACOs, health plans and other community health care organizations throughout Wisconsin.
Delaware Health Information Network (DHIN)
Delaware Health Information Network’s (@DHIN_HIE) roots reach back to 1997 when the Delaware General Assembly enacted the organization as a public/private partnership. The objective was, and remains today, to advance the creation of a statewide health information network that addresses the state’s needs for timely, reliable and relevant health care information. In 2007, DHIN “went live” – meaning it became the first operational statewide health information exchange in the nation.
DHIN Welcomes 30th Data Sender, Limestone Open MRI and Imaging Center – DHIN is pleased to welcome Limestone Open MRI and Imaging Center as its newest data sender. Imaging results from Limestone are now available to healthcare providers through DHIN’s Community Health Record (CHR) and delivered directly through the CHR inbox and auto print channels, as well as through participating electronic medical record connections.
South Carolina Health Information Exchange (SCHIEx)
South Carolina Health Information Exchange is an innovative statewide information highway that allows participating health care providers to view a patient’s medical history, including medications, diagnoses and procedures. It is not a secure network where providers use certified technology to share the information they need for better outcomes.
SCHIEx Receives ENHAC and Direct Trust Accreditation – SCHIEx recently announced it has achieved full accreditation with the Direct Trusted Agent Accreditation Program (DTAAP) from DirectTrust and the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC). Direct Trusted Agent accreditation recognizes excellence in health data processing and transactions, and ensures compliance with industry-established standards, HIPAA regulations and the Direct Project.
New York -Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY)
The SHIN-NY is the only HIE that provides universal access regardless of network or EHR system. New York State has made a significant investment in the SHIN-NY and in 2016 they set a goal of connecting 100% of the PPS across the state to the SHIN-NY. The eight RHIOs that make up the SHIN-NY are working directly with the PPS organizations to meet their needs.
After a Dynamic Five Months as Interim Executive Director of HealthlinkNY, Staci Romeo Lands the Job Officially – Staci Romeo, MBA, has been appointed Executive Director of HealthlinkNY, announced Rajesh Davé, MD, MBA, Chairman of the HealthlinkNY Board of Directors. Mrs. Romeo has been serving as Interim Executive Director since January 1, 2018 after the departure of the founding President and Chief Executive Officer. Mrs. Romeo formerly served as the organization’s Comptroller and, most recently, Senior Vice President.
New York Expands Electronic Patient Care Alerts Service Statewide – The New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) recently announced the expansion of patient care alerts across the state’s eight regional health information exchanges through the Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY). The statewide expansion of this service further enhances the SHIN-NY’s patient care coordination capabilities and creates an integral resource in improving health and care delivery, including reducing hospital readmissions, throughout the state.
Hixny Highlights Alerts, Teases Upcoming Innovations at Population Health Summit – Well-known Capital Region physician Adetutu Adetona, MD, and Hixny (@HIXNY) Manager of Population Health and Data Quality Tavia Rauch described Hixny’s benefits across the broader health community during the recent Population Health Innovation Summit in Albany. During a keynote address before nearly 300 attendees, Adetona—the solo practitioner at Lansingburgh Family Practice—described efficient access to real-time data as a major advantage of Hixny.
Colorado Regional Health Information Exchange (CORHIO)
CORHIO (@CORHIO) manages one of the country’s largest and most successful health information exchange networks and works to improve healthcare through the use of information technology and data exchange.
Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment Uses HIE to Investigate Communicable Disease Patient Information – When working with patients who’ve tested positive for a communicable disease, the team relies on hospital data in the CORHIO health information exchange to check on test results and proof of medication compliance.
Michigan – Great Lakes Health Connect (GLHC)
Great Lakes Health Connect (@GLHC_HIE) is one of the largest and most successful Health Information Exchanges in the country and is growing rapidly. GLHC is committed to creating care-connected communities across Michigan. Their vision is to enhance patient experience, improve health outcomes, and reduce costs across the continuum of care.
Susan Hawkins and Dr. John Fox Join the GLHC Board of Directors – Great Lakes Health Connect recently announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors. Joining the 15-member Board of Directors are Susan Hawkins and Dr. John Fox.
Utah Health Information Network (UHIN)
UHIN (@UHIN_HIE) has been in operation since 1993 beginning as a claims “post office.” Today it also operates the Clinical Health Information Exchange (cHIE), which empowers doctors and patients to work together for safer, better-coordinated care by making crucial information available to doctors at the point of care.

Greater Houston HealthConnect
Formerly the Greater Houston Health Information Exchange and now renamed Greater Houston Healthconnect (@HealthconnectTX) is launching one of the largest health information networks in the country. Healthconnect is working collaboratively with the Texas Health Services Authority and the Texas HIE Coalition to provide connectivity throughout the state and to share value-added services.
HCA Healthcare’s Gulf Coast Division – the Region’s Largest Health System – Joins Greater Houston Healthconnect – HCA Healthcare’s Gulf Coast Division has joined Greater Houston Healthconnect, the region’s Health Information Exchange (HIE). The Gulf Coast Division’s participation represents a major milestone for the community, as it is the final major health system to join the HIE.
