North Carolina Health Information Exchange Authority (NC HIEA)
In 2015 the General Assembly of North Carolina established a state-managed Health Information Exchange Authority (NC HIEA) to oversee and administer the NC Health Information Exchange Network. The NC HIEA is housed within the NC Department of Information Technology’s (DIT) Government Data Analytics Center (GDAC). The NC HIEA operates North Carolina’s state-designated health information exchange, NC HealthConnex, a secure, standardized electronic system in which providers can share important patient health information. The use of this system promotes the access, exchange and analysis of health information.
NC HealthConnex Goes Live with the National Patient Centered Data Home Network; NC Providers Will Now Be Alerted When Patients Present at EDs Out of State – North Carolina health care providers will now be able to receive information when their patients present at certain out of state emergency rooms or inpatient stays thanks to a connection between NC HealthConnex and other participating HIEs across the nation via the Patient Centered Data Home (PCDH) national network.
California – SacValley MedShare
SacValley MedShare (@svmshie) is a member of the California Association of Health Information Exchanges (CAHIE) and serves the 16-county region of California, north of Sacramento, which includes the North Central Valley and the surrounding mountainous terrain. Its region is largely rural and mountainous, with travel limited by climate and season in much of the area. Good communication is critical to coordinate care between primary care, specialists, hospital providers, and skilled nursing care facilities that fulfill a vital role in post-discharge care for many patients.
Dr. Ronald E. Reece, MD Joins SacValley MedShare – SacValley MedShare welcomes its newest participating member, Dr. Ronald E. Reece, MD. Dr. Reece will be contributing data to the exchange, ADT/Labs/Office Visit Notes and CCD’s.
HealtHIE Nevada
HealtHIE Nevada (@HealtHIENevada) is a private, nonprofit, community-based HIE dedicated to connecting healthcare organizations by managing real time, secure, and accurate exchange of clinical information. HealtHIE Nevada operates throughout the entire state, and is the only HIE open and available to the entire Nevada healthcare community.
Could faster, electronic sharing of health records help doctors better respond to COVID-19? – Patients with underlying medical conditions are at higher risk of experiencing severe symptoms from COVID-19, and if one of these patients shows up to an ER or urgent care for help, doctors without knowledge of the patient’s medical history can have a hard time accessing the records necessary to treat them efficiently. HealtHIE Nevada provides a connection between health care providers, allowing patients’ history and records to be accessed no matter where a patient was last seen.
Nebraska Health Information Initiative (NeHII)
Nebraska Health Information Initiative (@NeHIIorg) is leading the effort to create a secure, online, web-based Health Information Exchange designed to serve the state of Nebraska. Improved delivery of health care information and reduced health care costs are good for all citizens of Nebraska. The state has a proud tradition and reputation of providing the finest health care possible to its citizens. The HIE will help health care providers take health care to the next level.
Nebraska Health Information Initiative and Unite Us Introduce Unite Nebraska: A Statewide Coordinated Care Network to address Social Determinants of Health – Nebraska Health Information Initiative joins forces with Unite Us, the technology company that connects health and social care providers, in a unique and innovative partnership that will transform service delivery and care coordination throughout Nebraska.
Arizona – Health Current
Health Current (@AZHealthCurrent), is a partner that gives providers the information they need to make better clinical decisions and keep people healthy. The HIE believes more complete information is more meaningful. It makes healthcare transformation possible. And Health Current is central to this progress, integrating information technology and care delivery to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.

New York -Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY)
The SHIN-NY is the only HIE that provides universal access regardless of network or EHR system. New York State has made a significant investment in the SHIN-NY and in 2016 they set a goal of connecting 100% of the PPS across the state to the SHIN-NY. The eight RHIOs that make up the SHIN-NY are working directly with the PPS organizations to meet their needs.
HEALTHeLINK: Geoff Allen Joins HEALTHeLINK as Data Quality Manager – HEALTHeLINK announced the hire of Geoff Allen as data quality manager. In this new role, Allen is responsible for the data quality and standardization efforts of Western New York’s health information exchange and serves as the subject matter expert in this area for HEALTHeLINK participants, including spearheading the data quality committee. In addition, Allen will also develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate a formal data quality improvement plan as required by the New York State Department of Health Office of Quality and Patient Safety.
Hixny: Hixny Broadens Availability of Enhanced Reporting to Support Value-Based Care – Hixny announced that it is has enhanced its reporting capability to include gaps in care and quality indicator categories while also broadening availability to help more providers move toward a value-based model of care. Until now, the reports have focused on a handful of conditions and recommended screenings, but with the improved capabilities and new categories, more conditions and corresponding tests have been added—including COVID-19.
Georgia Health Information Network (GaHIN)
Georgia Health Information Network (@GeorgiaHIE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a healthier Georgia by facilitating the use and secure exchange of electronic health information so providers have the information they need at the point of care. GaHIN’s two products, GeorgiaDirect and Georgia ConnectedCare, connect providers statewide and nationally and are free for credentialed, authorized Georgia users.

Colorado Regional Health Information Exchange (CORHIO)
CORHIO (@CORHIO) manages one of the country’s largest and most successful health information exchange networks and works to improve healthcare through the use of information technology and data exchange.
Denver Health Hospital Now Connected to the CORHIO Health Information Exchange Network – CORHIO announced that Denver Health has successfully connected to its health information exchange (HIE) network. As Colorado’s primary safety-net institution, Denver Health treats 33% of Denver’s population annually, seeing nearly 930,000 total patient visits annually.
Utah Health Information Network (UHIN)
UHIN (@UHIN_HIE) has been in operation since 1993 beginning as a claims “post office.” Today it also operates the Clinical Health Information Exchange (cHIE), which empowers doctors and patients to work together for safer, better-coordinated care by making crucial information available to doctors at the point of care.

Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE)
Indiana Health Information Exchange (@IndianaHIE) operates the nation’s largest health information exchange, providing a secure, robust and interoperable health information technology network that connects over 150 hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, community health clinics and other healthcare providers.

Los Angeles Network for Enhanced Services
LANES (@LANES_HIE) is an independent, non-profit organization developing a health information exchange (HIE) for all hospitals, clinics, and health plans that provide care to L.A. County residents. LANES seeks to make patients health information available safely and securely, when and where it is needed to enable better clinical care and care coordination.
UCLA Health Goes Live with LANES – UCLA Health, among the most comprehensive and advanced healthcare systems in the world, has activated the LANES health information exchange.
Idaho Health Data Exchange (IDHE)
The Idaho Health Data Exchange (@idahohde) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) company. IDHE began in 2008 and is Idaho created, based, and managed. IHDE is a HIE and enables doctors, nurses, labs, and other medical providers to securely access their patient’s electronic health information quickly, 24/7/365, to improve the speed, quality, safety, and cost of patient care.
Idaho Health Data Exchange Partners with 4medica to Eliminate Duplicate Patient Records – The IHDE announced its partnership with 4medica® to implement and operate a powerful end-to-end cloud-based enterprise master patient index (eMPI) solution and sophisticated master data clean-up service to improve the health and lives of its patients statewide.
Keystone Health Information Exchange (KeyHIE)
KeyHIE was founded in 2005 and is one of the oldest health information exchanges in the U.S. KeyHIE seeks to revolutionize the coordination of care between providers, health plans and patients. They serve more than four million patients over a 53 county presence in Pennsylvania. KeyHIE strives to empower entire communities to stay healthy by helping them own their healthcare experience.
KeyHIE Taps Longstanding Partnership with Orion Health to Rapidly Enable Public Health Reporting Amid COVID-19 Crisis – The Keystone Health Information Exchange announced that it has leveraged its longstanding partnership with Orion Health, a leading provider of population health management solutions, to enable real-time automated COVID-19 reporting. The reporting improves public health data collection across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and helps address the COVID-19 health crisis.
