South Dakota Health Link
South Dakota Health Link (@SDHealthLink) connects hospitals, federally qualified health centers, primary care providers, specialists, labs and pharmacies as well as public health and other state agencies. It’s a one-of-a-kind network that allows secure consultations and the sharing of test results with other providers for better patient outcomes. Health Link is provided by the South Dakota Department of Health and guided by an active advisory council working toward a common goal: Foster the sharing of information through a secure platform to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of care provided to all citizens.
3rd Annual South Dakota Health Link Fall Forum – Time is running out to register for SD Health Link’s Fall Forum, an annual conference dedicated to current members (and potential new members) of SD Health Link. Members are encouraged to attend the Fall Forum as it is an opportunity to learn more about using SD Health Link, upgrades and changes in technology, and other relevant information for SD Health Link members. This year the keynote speaker is non other than Dr. Vindell Washington (@VindellW), the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). For more conference details see listing below.
Health Share Exchange of Southeastern Pennsylvania (HSX)
HealthShare Exchange (@HealthShareExch) is the greater Philadelphia region’s health information exchange for the five-county Southeastern Pennsylvania region. HSX is a unique, membership-dues-supported nonprofit formed by the Delaware Valley’s hospitals/health systems and healthcare insurers that links the electronic medical record systems of different hospital health systems, medical centers, and clinics — and the claims data of healthcare insurers — to make this information accessible at inpatient and outpatient points of care, including medical practice offices.
Unprecedented Gathering of Region’s Healthcare Leaders Brings Collaborative Agreement for Information Sharing – On September 14, 2016 CEOs and key executives of the Philadelphia area healthcare systems came together to pat themselves on the back and to celebrate their participation in HealthShare Exchange of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Inc. CEOs and senior executives electronically signed a commemorative HIE collaboration statement, as attendees watched on the big screen. HSX also unveiled its new promotional tagline: “Caring means sharing.”
Michigan – Great Lakes Health Connect (GLHC)
Great Lakes Health Connect (@GLHC_HIE) is one of the largest and most successful Health Information Exchanges in the country and is growing rapidly. GLHC is committed to creating care-connected communities across Michigan. Their vision is to enhance patient experience, improve health outcomes, and reduce costs across the continuum of care.
Genesee County Healthcare and Social Service Community to Receive Assistance Connecting to Statewide Health Information Network – In February 2016, GLHC announced a $250,000 investment to build up Genesee County’s health IT infrastructure, an essential tool in ensuring the timely, accurate and secure exchange of medical data. This investment is in collaboration with the Greater Flint Health Coalition and the healthcare community throughout Genesee County. Great Lakes Health Connect recently welcomed Katrina Khouri to its growing team of Implementation Consultants. Khouri will work directly with individual physicians, physician groups, human service and social agencies, and community organizations in Genesee County to establish connectivity to the GLHC health information exchange network.
Rhode Island – CurrentCare
CurrentCare (@CurrentCare), Rhode Island’s health information exchange system, is a safe, reliable, and efficient electronic network that gives medical professionals access to their patient’s health information. CurrentCare is a free service developed by the RI healthcare community that creates a centralized electronic health record for enrolled patients.
Rhode Island Quality Institute Receives Federal Grant to Address Need for Better Patient Care Coordination Between Medical and Behavioral Health Care Providers – The Rhode Island Quality Institute (@RIQI_Org) announced that it has been awarded a Community Interoperability and Health Information Exchange grant from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT. The one-year, $100,000 grant will support the Rhode Island Behavioral and Medical Information Exchange project, an initiative that will connect Butler Hospital and behavioral health providers who are ineligible for federal health IT incentives to CurrentCare to expand and improve their ability to electronically send, receive, find and use health information in a manner that is appropriate, standardized, secure, timely, and reliable
Utah Health Information Network (UHIN)
UHIN (#UHIN) has been in operation since 1993 beginning as a claims “post office.” Today it also operates the Clinical Health Information Exchange (cHIE), which empowers doctors and patients to work together for safer, better-coordinated care by making crucial information available to doctors at the point of care.
UHIN Receives Second ONC Grant – UHIN was recently awarded a second grant from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (@ONC_HealthIT). This $624,000 grant acknowledges UHIN’s success in supporting great outcomes through electronic health information exchange.
Coordinated Care Oklahoma
Coordinated Care Oklahoma (@CCOOklahoma) is the largest Health Information Network serving medical professionals in Oklahoma. It was founded to improve healthcare outcomes. CCO helps medical providers coordinate with other members of a patient’s healthcare team, by providing secure access to real-time, aggregated, complete medical records.
Coordinated Care Oklahoma Teams with MyDirectives – Coordinated Care Oklahoma now features MyDirectives, a technology service provided to consumers by Dallas, Texas-based ADVault, Inc. ADVault’s MyDirectives.com and MyDirectives MOBILE help consumers create, manage and share their emergency, critical and advance care plans. CCO provides access to more than 4.2 million people’s health records contributed by seven health systems, in excess of 45 hospitals and more than 3,000 providers in five states.
