HIMSS has released a survey to assess how providers are preparing for the shift to value-based payment models. Providers in all settings can participate. The survey will be available through 12/31/2015, with results shared at the HIMSS 16 in Las Vegas in February.

Notably, it is required under Meaningful Use to have certain prompts occur whether or not those prompts are necessary.
As the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) advances alternative payment models for physicians, the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) urged policymakers to streamline the Meaningful Use program and reduce the reporting burden on providers by better aligning quality measures.

CMS released the Calendar Year 2016 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System and Ambulatory Surgical Center Payment System policy changes, quality provisions, and payment rates final rule with comment period on October 30, 2015.
CMS has been carefully monitoring the transition and is pleased to report that claims are processing normally. Generally speaking, Medicare claims take several days to be processed and, once processed, Medicare must– by law – wait two weeks before issuing a payment.
