CMS Seeking Recommendations for MIPS Specialty Measure Sets
CMS is accepting stakeholders’ recommendations regarding potential new specialty measure sets and/or revisions to existing specialty measure sets for the 2023 performance year of MIPS. Recommendations for new specialty sets or revisions to the 2022 specialty sets should be based on the established 2022 MIPS quality measures.

CMS to Apply MIPS Automatic Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances Policy for the 2021 Performance Year
CMS continues to provide relief where possible to clinicians responding to the 2019 COVID-19 public health emergency. They are applying the Merit-based Incentive Payment System automatic extreme and uncontrollable circumstances policy to ALL individually eligible MIPS eligible clinicians for the 2021 performance year.

PY 2020 Performance Category Reweighting Requests Deadline Extended
CMS is allowing clinicians, groups, virtual groups, and Alternative Payment Model Entities to request Merit-based Incentive Payment System performance category reweighting for PY 2020 under their EUC policy through November 29, 2021 at 8 p.m. ET.
