SnapMD (@snapmdinc , a full-service enterprise telehealth technology innovator and solutions provider, announced that the company has partnered with Carefluence, a plug-and-play platform for healthcare interoperability and certified open API, to deliver its enterprise-level Virtual Care Management (VCM) telemedicine platform to the healthcare market. GE Healthcare Selects InTouch Health to Provide Virtual Communication Capabilities for its Virtual Care Solution: Mural
InTouch Health (@InTouchHealth), a telehealth services company, and GE Healthcare announced an agreement to embed InTouch Health’s virtual communication capabilities within Mural, GE Healthcare’s recently launched virtual care solution. Mural supports various virtual care models by aggregating, synchronizing and displaying application data from multiple sources across care areas.

Teladoc Health Reports Second Quarter 2019 Results
Teladoc Health, Inc. (@teladochealth), a virtual care company, reported financial results for the second quarter ending June 30, 2019. Year-over-year Q2 revenue grows 38% to $130.3 million and total visits increase 70% to 908,000. Year-over-year first half revenue grows 41% to $258.8 million and total visits increase 73% to 1,971,000.

Legislation Passed in Missouri Increases Autonomy for Physician Assistants
Clinical Advisor reports that a new law passed in Missouri will allow physician assistants (PAs) to practice with more autonomy and mirrors the collaboration requirements for PA-physician teams with those for nurse practitioner-physician teams. The enactment of Senate Bill 514 (SB 514) will replace all references of physician “supervision” with “collaboration.” The bill, signed by Governor Michael Parson on July 11, 2019, will make Missouri the 11th state to use a term other than supervision to describe PA practice
Atrium Health Receives $150,000 Grant from Kohl’s to Expand Levine Children’s School-Based Virtual Clinic to Lincoln County
Arium Health reports that Kohl’s has committed $150,000 to expand Atrium Health’s Levine Children’s school-based virtual clinic to two schools in Lincoln County. The virtual clinics, which Levine Children’s originally launched in Cleveland County, will now be offered at G.E. Massey and Battleground Elementary Schools in Lincolnton. The goal of the virtual clinic is to improve access to pediatricians who diagnose and develop a treatment plan while the students remain at school.

Joe Kvedar, MD, New President-Elect of the ATA
The American Telemedicine Association (ATA) announced the election of Joseph C. Kvedar, MD, as President-Elect. Dr. Kvedar is Vice President of Connected Health at Partners HealthCare, and Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Kvedar previously served as President of ATA from 2004-2005, and was a member of the Board of Directors from 2002-2006.
